Accreditation

A French accreditation body was created in 1994 : COFRAC (Comité Français d'Accréditation). Its role is to accreditate certification bodies which work in different sections of activity. To fulfill its task, sections were created. At this time, eight sections work : Tests, Calibration, Inspection, Company and Personnel certification, Industrial Products Certification, Environment, Agricultural Products and Food Certification, Service Certification. BN ACIER ensures the representation of the profession in some COFRAC committees (particularly Section Committees and Sectorial Commissions).
